Christian Bovenkamp
HR Director, GMAC European Operations


Christian is currently HR Director at GMAC European Operations based in the UK and is responsible for all HR related tasks in the Auto Finance and Full Service Leasing business within Europe.

He gained international HR, process reengineering and change management experience within Accenture, Daimler Financial Services, Bombardier Transportation and GMAC. He coordinated several re-engineering projects to improve efficiency of Finance and IT Shared Services from an HR perspective, set up an HR Shared Services and participated in several outsourcing, M&A projects throughout his career.

Christian holds a Masters degree in business administration from the European Business School, Oestrich-Winkel in Germany and is a Master Black Belt in Six Sigma. 


Mario Dobbelaere

Gianni Giacomelli
Head of Global Strategy and Marketing BPO Business Unit, SAP AG

Gianni Giacomelli is Head of Strategy and Marketing in the BPO business unit of SAP. He joined SAP in late 2004, and has more than 16 years of experience in organizational development, transformation strategy and related services.

He has served previously in companies such as Boston Consulting Group, Danone and Datamonitor, and in US-based consulting firm Everest prior to joining SAP. He is a widely published thought leader in the outsourcing/offshoring/G&A transformation space.

He holds a degree in Economics and Business from the University of Florence, Italy and EME Business School of Strasbourg, France, and a Masters in Organizational Psychology from London Business School.


John Hacquebard

Director Labour and Employee Relations EMEA, Honeywell

John Hacquebard leads the Employee & Labour Relations Center of Excellence for Honeywell Inc. in EMEA.

The Labour Relations Center of Excellence ensures the coordination of the Labour Relations strategies and tactics for Honeywell in EMEA across the 5 Strategic Business Groups which employ in total 30.000 people across Europe.

The Center further coordinates and leads the Honeywell European Works Council relations and supports the Europe wide local works council and union relationships in the businesses.

John has instated a rigorous business discipline for a timely and strategic information and consultation processes across Europe and is acting as the focal point for Business Leaders, HR Leaders as well as works council members for the coordination of all initiatives related to the information and consultation requirements of Honeywell in EMEA. His networking and expert knowledge have built up an increased awareness of and good practice in information and consultation with the objective to facilitate the realization of country and/or EMEA wide business initiatives.

Prior to his present role John has been active in numerous HR roles across EMEA during his career with Honeywell, amongst those for example as Managing the European Management Development Centre of Honeywell in Europe, HR Director for the Sensing and Control business in Europe, HR Director for Automation and Control Systems in France and HR Leader for the Process Solutions Operations organisation in EMEA.

John believes in Positive Employee Relations as the pre-condition for successful business performance and management of change.


Luc Janssens
General Manager HR, Toyota Motor Europe
Luc Janssens has been working for Toyota Motor Europe (Brussels - Belgium) since 1997 as General Manager, HR, Corporate Projects & Social Responsibility, covering the European R&D, engineering, manufacturing, sales, marketing and logistics activities of the largest car manufacturer in the world. He developed a strong experience in the automotive industry in Europe, the Far East and South East  Asia through his previous Executive HR  functions within the Inchcape Group. He is a respected speaker at various HR, European Employment & Social Affairs and CSR related conferences, He got a Master degree in law at the University of Louvain. In his free time he is teaching golf to his seven children.  


Andrew Kris
Consultant and Director,

Andrew Kris is a Director at Borderless Executive Search, an international executive search firm specializing in finding and attracting talent for global businesses in Process and Converting industries, Life Sciences, Food Processing and Environmental Technologies. Kris pioneered the firm's distinctively service-oriented approach to transnational search in 1997, based on his extensive international experience as an executive recruiter and trusted advisor to corporations.

His experience includes senior executive positions on the Management Board of one of the world’s largest industrial companies. Kris led units across 18 countries in pharmaceuticals, consumer products, chemicals, plastics and construction products, and has lived and worked in the UK, France, South Africa, Switzerland and the Benelux.

A leading commentator, author and sought-after speaker on the worldwide development of executive leadership, talent management, shared services and business process outsourcing, he is the co-author of Shared Services: mining for corporate gold and Shared Services and BPO: an executive briefing, both published in English and Mandarin by Pearson. In parallel with his work at Borderless, Andrew Kris is an advisor on business transformation to Executive Boards of international corporations and is currently working on a third book on Shared Services to be published this year.


Tobias Kuehr
Senior VP HR Services, Deutsche Telekom

Tobias Kuehr started his career at Deutsche Telekom in 2002. Since than, Tobias has held various international positions within the company, e.g. within the innovation management department of T-Systems International in San Mateo, USA and as a senior consultant of Deutsche Telekom’s internal consulting unit in Bonn, Germany.

Before joining Deutsche Telekom’s HR SSC, he was jointly responsible for the business development process of Vivento (Deutsche Telekom’s internal employment agency) focusing the founding of new companies in different business fields (e.g. call centre-, technical-, and sales services).

Within the HR SSC, Tobias takes responsibility for business development and –optimization. Amongst others he introduced the internal productivity and efficiency program, which aims to significantly increase efficiency and reduce complexity within HR SSC processes.

Tobias studied business economics at the University of Hertfordshire, UK and holds a MBA degree from the University of Bradford, UK.


Michael Magotsch, LL.M.,
Partner, DLA Piper
Michael is Office Managing Partner of the Frankfurt office and a partner in the German Employment group of DLA Piper. He has expertise in national and cross-border restructurings, acquisitions, mass redundancies, outsourcing measures, negotiations with works councils on operational changes and social compensation plans, negotiations with unions on collective bargaining agreements, conciliation committee proceedings and legal representation of companies before Labour Courts, High Labour Courts and the German Federal Labour Court. Michael also represents companies in termination matters, secondments of employees, disputes
with managers, and the implementation of stock options plans. His extensive experience also includes M&A transactions. His client base includes Anglo-American and German companies in the telecommunications, IT, chemical, aviation and automotive industries, as well as clients in the banking sector.


Patrick Meirlaen

Wide and deep experience with Industrial Relations in many countries, ranging from France to South-Africa. Headed a European Works Council of a multinational corporation during a decade and developed it into a powerful management tool. Luk Mettens
HR Operations Leader, European and Emerging Markets, Cisco

Luk currently leads HR Operations for the European and Emerging markets at CISCO.  In that capacity his main goal is to help provide a connected HR support experience for employees and managers.  Since joining CISCO 9 years ago, Luk has held a number of roles including HR business partner and regional HR Manager (Benelux, Northern Europe).  

Luk’s previous experiences include Head of Human Resources for Continental Europe at PA Consulting Group and several HR Management roles at PricewaterhouseCoopers.
Luk Mettens holds a Master’s degree in Applied Economic Sciences and is a Bachelor in Law.

Luk is married, has one child and lives close to Antwerp in Belgium.
In his spare time, he is an active musician as well as an avid reader.

Chris Phillips

Chris Phillips is Vice President of International Marketing, at talent management solutions company, Taleo. In this role, Mr. Phillips is responsible for product marketing, product management and marketing communications throughout Europe and Asia. Over the last 3 years he has led the formulation of Taleo’s product strategy for international markets and works closely with many of Taleo’s customers on their talent management strategies.

A graduate of the University of Cambridge, Mr Phillips brings more than 17 years of leadership experience in the IT industry, having worked in several senior marketing director roles worldwide.

Most recently, Mr Phillips was Chief Marketing Officer at Staffware plc, a market-leading provider of business process management solutions, where he led a global marketing organisation of more than 40 people. Prior to that, he held EMEA Marketing Director positions at Commerce One and Vitria Technology, where he helped establish both as leaders in the European marketplace. He spent the first 10 years of his career at IBM, where he held a number of senior positions in the Financial Services and eBusiness Solutions divisions.

Arjen van Berkum was until 1 December 2008 Head of Resource Allocation Management of ING. ING is a leading financial services provider serving clients across the world. Arjen has more than 15 years experience in the financial industry in a wide variety of functions from sales, marketing, distribution, operations, IT and HR.
Arjen has led an important backlog reduction program with a large insurance company (over 600 people) involving culture change and introducing performance management.

Arjen has been director of Flexforce and Flex@ING within ING from 2005 till 2007. Flex@ING is an MSP of an outsourcing to Accenture. This included full RPO and on-/offboarding facilities for over 3000 external staff.

Since mid 2007 Arjen has been employed as Head of Resource Allocation Management, assuming control and end to end responsibility of over 8000 externall staff in the Netherlands and Europe.
Arjen holds master degrees in Mathematics, Business Economics and Political sciences.


Luc Vanden Broeck

Luc Vanden Broeck is currently Vice President Human Resources of GlaxoSmithKlineBiologicals based in Belgium.

Luc has a Master in Chemical Engineering and Processing and a strong experience in human resources and production. He spent 23 years with Kimberly-Clark where he was most recently European Director Operations and Healthcare.

He started his career as process and project engineer at Scott in Belgium before taking a role in manufacturing leadership. Luc moved to an HR management role in 1996 at a time when Scott merged with Kimberly Clark. He was rapidly promoted to the position of Leader European HR Strategy and Organizational Development based at the European Headquarters in the UK.

He spent four years in the UK where he took several HR leadership roles of increasing responsibility for different Kimberly-Clark businesses. He came back to Belgium in 2004 as HR Director North & Central Europe and Healthcare Europe.


Rick Woodward
Formerly Learning and Development Director, Kimberly-Clark

Rick Woodward is a Learning and Development Professional with over 25 years broad based experience in human resources gained in the consumer goods, pharmaceutical and oil sectors.

In his most recent role he was Global Learning and Development director for Kimberly-Clark heading up a team of twenty individuals and dividing his time between Neenah, Wisconsin and Reigate, UK.

Rick has a long standing interest in recruitment processes and has led graduate recruitment in several companies. He was responsible for Kimberly-Clark’s successful outsourcing of UK recruitment 4 years ago and also worked as a part of the more challenging recruitment outsourcing in the USA. Rick has a particular interest in performance management, and coaching and is often called to act as an internal facilitator for senior international business meetings. He has designed and led leadership programmes in the USA, Europe, Middle East and South Africa.  

Rick graduated from Sheffield University with a First Class Honours degree in Chemical Engineering, later gaining a Distinction in a Diploma of Management Studies in Kent. He became a Fellow of the Institute of Personnel Development in 1991.

Rick’s home is Sevenoaks, Kent, UK where he lives with his wife and daughter. He is an active member of his local Church, a keen runner and enthusiastic photographer.

Karim Zerhouni
