According to Online Recruitment, the trend is becoming increasingly popular as HR departments are becoming stretched and companies are striving to keep up with technological changes.
Clive Harper, human resource manager at IT solutions provider Charteris, told reporters: "Understandably many HR operations are cautious in their adoption of new technology.
"Through our own research, we found that many software solutions were complex and required a high level of technical knowledge to understand and use."
Sarah Flynn, an HR officer at the group, added that outsourcing enables line managers to communicate with candidates while they are out of the office on client visits, working remotely from home or at other office locations.
