HR Outsourcing Set to Rise

HR outsourcing is set to rise, presenting “a real opportunity” for freed-up HR professionals to take on a more strategic role, according to research from the CIPD.

But the profession needs the “skills, capabilities and self-belief” to adopt this role as the survey found only 10 per cent of employers who currently outsource HR functions are realising this potential.

Of the 315 organisations surveyed by Leeds University Business School on behalf of the CIPD, 29 per cent were outsourcing HR and experiences reported by this group were mixed. Just under half of this group said the outsourcing had been successful in some areas but not others, while only 7 per cent said it had been a success.
