Hewitt Now Provides Outsourcing Services to More than Half a Million People in Mid-Sized Companies

8 September 2009:

September 08, 2009 LINCOLNSHIRE, Ill. — On the second anniversary of its official launch into the middle market health and welfare outsourcing business, Hewitt Associates, a global human resources services company, has significantly strengthened its presence among companies with medium-sized employee populations. Due to growing demand from companies looking for flexible, cost-effective, and high-quality benefits administration services, Hewitt has added 31 new companies representing 301,000 employees, retirees and their families to its middle market platform, Core Benefits Administration (CBA). Hewitt now provides health and welfare outsourcing services to more than 580,000 employees across 55 companies.

"Our CBA solution exploded onto the outsourcing scene two years ago and continues to build momentum as current and prospective clients recognize the value of its scalability and how quickly we can get the service up and running," says Craig Maloney, Hewitt's senior vice-president of mid-market outsourcing. "We're exceptionally pleased with the business' growth and recognition in the outsourcing space, particularly as a springboard for our other mid-market offers. But most importantly, our clients are happy with our innovative solution and the flexibility it provides their employees."

Hewitt's middle market outsourcing solution streamlines benefit administration processes by allowing mid-size companies to manage their most complex health and welfare processes with greater efficiency and effectiveness. In addition, it complements Hewitt's extensive suite of HR solutions that include a variety of health, retirement, and compensation services designed to enhance employees' appreciation and use of their benefits programs.

"Allowing our team members greater access to their health and welfare benefits goes a long way toward being a compelling place to work," Said Del Bristol, divisional vice president of Human Resources at Family Dollar. "We wanted to work with an HR outsourcing company that could provide best-in-class benefits administration through great technology and customer service. We are pleased with the partnership we have established with Hewitt and look forward to a long and fruitful relationship."

Hewitt Expands Middle Market Division
After firmly solidifying its footprint in the mid-market health and welfare outsourcing space over the past two years, Hewitt will augment its middle market offer by combining its CBA platform with its existing mid-market retirement solutions. Led by Craig Maloney, the expanded division will focus exclusively on the needs of companies in this market segment and allow Hewitt to capitalize on the tremendous growth potential in this segment. It also will allow the company to serve its middle market clients with greater focus and collaboration, supported by Hewitt's wide array of broader HR outsourcing and consulting solutions.

"Integrating our CBA platform with our other mid-market retirement solutions and developing a new Web portal enables us to create a world-class customer experience," said Jay Rising, Hewitt's president of global benefits outsourcing. "Looking ahead for our refined mid-market offer, we're well-positioned to more effectively serve middle-market companies in a way that is consistent with the leading human resources expertise we're recognized for in the large market."
