Transforming the finance function through Shared Services Centers

Shell has reorganized its finance operations function around five primary Shared Services Centers. They handle a large number of processes including accounts payable, data management, general accounting processes and management information for the group. There is a lesson to be learned for anyone considering rolling out a Shared Services Center project: anything is possible when it has complete backing from top management.
