David Altman

Executive Vice President and Managing Director, Center for Creative Leadership
David is EVP and MD of CCL-EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa). Previously, he served for over nine years as EVP of CCL’s Research, Innovation and Product Development group. Prior to CCL, David was a tenured Professor of Public Health Sciences and Paediatrics’ at Wake Forest University School of Medicine in Winston Salem, North Carolina (10 years) and Senior Research Scientist at the Stanford Center for Research in Disease Prevention at Stanford University School of Medicine in Palo Alto, California (10 years).

Current Role
As EVP and MD of EMEA, David leads a 130 person team of full-time staff and 160 Associates in their work supporting CCL’s mission. He also serves on the 10 person Executive Team of CCL. EMEA has staff through the region and offices in Brussels [HQ]; Moscow, Russia; Addis Ababa, Ethiopia; and Johannesburg, South Africa. David is also an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Public Health Education at the University of North Carolina, Greensboro and Adjunct Professor in the Department of Social Sciences and Health Policy at the Wake Forest University School of Medicine. He serves as co-director of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation funded Executive Nurse Fellows program (www.executivenursefellows.org). David has long supplemented his work in the public health field with a keen interest leadership. At CCL, he has attended the Leadership Development Program (LDP) as a Fellow of the W.K. Kellogg Foundation National Leadership Program, Leading Strategically, Leading Creatively, Developing Leadership Talent, Assessment Certification Workshop, Coaching Certification Workshop, and Leadership at the Peak programs. He currently serves as a faculty member for the Leadership at the Peak program which is offered in Switzerland and Colorado Springs.

Educational Background
David earned his M.A. and Ph.D. degrees in Social Ecology from the University of California, Irvine where he was selected as Alumni of the year in 2007. He completed a Postdoctoral Fellowship at the Stanford University.

Publications and Professional Affiliations
David is active in a number of professional associations and is a Fellow of three divisions of the American Psychological Association and a Fellow in the Society of Behavioral Medicine. He is also a member of the American Public Health Association, Council on Epidemiology and Prevention of the American Heart Association, the Society of Public Health Education, and Academy of Behavioral Medicine Research. He serves on a variety of community taskforces and Boards. He has published over 100 journal articles and book chapters and five books.

Jesper Lillelund

Partner & Co-Founder, CorporateLeaders

Jesper Lillelund has been engaged in building valuable business networks on the international scene for over 15 years. Jesper combines his in-depth industry knowledge, access to a wide network of business leaders, and market development skills focusing on making business transformation and corporate excellence part of the business agenda.

Prior to co-founding CorporateLeaders, Jesper was instrumental in building a leading independent business transformation association from an informal business community to a global player. He also served as the Marketing Director at The Wall Street Journal Europe where he was responsible for managing brand, direct and on-line marketing. In his career at the Journal Europe, Jesper was also responsible for developing new revenue generating businesses. This included launching The Wall Street Journal Europe’s conference operations starting with the highly sought after European CEO Summits to the regional Central European Economic Review conferences. Prior to the Journal Europe, Jesper held market analyst roles at MAN B&W Diesel and Danisco in Denmark.

Jesper holds an MBA in International Management from the University of Dallas and a BBA in Management and International Business from Baylor University in Texas.


Hamish Madan
Vice President & Managing Director, EMEA, Center for Creative Leadership

Hamish has 20 years of business experience with a focus in sales and marketing, product and portfolio management, business expansion and corporate strategy. He has held leadership positions at Sony, WABCO, Experian and Recall and has also been a partner in a consulting firm based in Brussels.

With a strong entreprenurial spirit, Hamish is enthusiastic and passionate about transforming individuals and teams and organizations. Throughout his career, he has gained the following experience:

  • leading global sales and strategic marketing functions
  • team building, coaching and mentoring capabilities of leaders of sales, marketing and product management functions
  • fostering a culture of accountability and execution
  • designing and implementing effectives sales and marketing capabilities, systems and processes
  • leading through organizational restructure
  • shifting culture from product to service orientation and developing the leadership capabilities required to achieve this shift
  • developing strategic business plans and budget management
  • leading due diligence teams on acquisitions

Current Role
Hamish joined CCL in November 2012 as the Markets Director for EMEA and oversees all commercial and marketing activites for the region. In his role, he is responsible for creating and executing strategies to increase CCL’s revenue, reach and impact. During his tenure at CCL, Hamish has reorganized and rebuilt the EMEA Markets Team, introduced a strong culture of performance management, increased team effectiveness and improved business results.

Educational Background
Hamish graduated with a Degree in Mathematics for Business, received a Masters Degree in Operational Research from the London School of Economics. Hamish also has an MBA specialising in Marketing and Strategy

Elisabeth Rodriguez Martinez
Strategic Associates Network Director, Center for Creative Leadership

Liz is the Strategic Associates Network Director EMEA and the Regional Director Middle East for the Center for Creative Leadership (CCL). Part of the EMEA Markets Team, Liz is responsible for the definition and implementation of CCL’s Strategic Associates strategy and Middle East business development.

In addition, she is the advisor on strategy to our Leadership Beyond Boundaries Team in Brussels. Leadership Beyond boundaries is an initiative by the Center for Creative Leadership to democratize leadership development and unlock the power of human potential.

Liz has 15+ years broad, hands-on experience in functional areas including general management, operations, finance, marketing and business development. Liz worked for many years in the Transportation sector and also has extensive experience with the chemical industry. Liz’s experience includes working for companies of various sizes and maturity, from multinational corporations to Internet start-ups.

Liz began her international career with DHL, working as a Financial Analyst and later Customer Service Manager, in both the U.S. and Europe. She then became Finance Manager of one of the largest teams in the shared service centre of Maastricht, The Netherlands. Liz was responsible for all OTC and PTP aspects of the Benelux and French markets, managing senior-level teams in Amsterdam, Paris, Lyon, Marseille and Le Havre. Liz ran her own consultancy company and helped different organizations such as Eastman Chemicals, Solutia or Shulmann Plastics to set up or re-organize their financial services through business process improvements and talent development initiatives.

Current Role
In her 4 years at CCL, Liz’s clients include commercial, governmental and higher education organizations in Europe and the Middle East. She often combines business consulting with management and leadership development work, and contributes in the design and development of customized executive education and team-building workshops. She provides consultancy services in a broad range of topics, including change management, strategy formulation, post-merger integration, and leadership and team development.

Educational Background
Liz holds a business degree from the High Business School of Liège, one of the top business schools in Belgium. Her working languages are English, French and Spanish.

Professional Affiliations
Liz has written numerous articles and been a keynote speaker. Topics addressed have included 'Managing Change in Financial Services', 'The Future of Public Administration', ‘Advanced Trends in Cultural Policies’, and ‘The three dimensions of sustainable development – economic, social and environmental’.

Liz is a member of the ENCATC, the European network on cultural management policy and an ad-hoc consultant to the IIAS, the International Institute of Administrative Sciences.
