Gender Pay Gap Exists for CEOs, Too

10 November 2008:

A new study by The Corporate Library reports that in 2008 female CEOs in the U.S. and Canada earn just 85% of what male CEOs earn.

What’s strange is that women CEOs get higher base salaries (103% of median male salaries), but when stock options, etc. are added in, male CEOs take the lead by upwards of 15%.

These results are only slightly different than the statistics related to the gender pay gap for women overall who were reported to make about 79% of what men made as full-time workers in 2007.
