Dirk De Bevere
Integrated Technology Services Leader Benelux, IBM

Dirk is the Business Line Executive for Integrated Technology Services (ITS) in Benelux. ITS serves customers in various industries and provides solutions ranging from smaller, short-term consultancy assignments to large, long-term managed services engagements and specializes in the domains of Business Continuity & Resiliency, Security, IT Services Optimization and Cloud Computing.

Dirk has 22 years of experience in the IT industry, and is now with IBM since 12 years. Today he leads a cross-functional team spanning sales, solutioning, local and off-shored delivery. He is member of the IBM Benelux Senior Leadership Team and the IBM Belgium Executive Committee. Next to that he serves as boardmember for IBM Services Financial Sector Luxembourg and was the chairman of the board of Skillteam prior to its integration in IBM Belgium.

Before taking up his current role Dirk held several management roles in IBM"s Global Technology Services Department and prior to that in Software Group. Dirk holds a University Degree at Antwerp University and an MBA at Henley Management College.

Jesper Lillelund
Partner & Co-Founder, CorporateLeaders

Jesper Lillelund has been engaged in building valuable business networks on the international scene for over 15 years. Jesper combines his in-depth industry knowledge, access to a wide network of business leaders, and market development skills focusing on making business transformation and corporate excellence part of the business agenda.

Prior to co-founding CorporateLeaders, Jesper was instrumental in building a leading independent business transformation association from an informal business community to a global player. He also served as the Marketing Director at The Wall Street Journal Europe where he was responsible for managing brand, direct and on-line marketing. In his career at the Journal Europe, Jesper was also responsible for developing new revenue generating businesses. This included launching The Wall Street Journal Europe’s conference operations starting with the highly sought after European CEO Summits to the regional Central European Economic Review conferences. Prior to the Journal Europe, Jesper held market analyst roles at MAN B&W Diesel and Danisco in Denmark.

Jesper holds an MBA in International Management from the University of Dallas and a BBA in Management and International Business from Baylor University in Texas.

 


Rashik Parmar
President of IBM's Academy of Technology and Distinguished Engineer, IBM

Rashik is President of IBM's Academy of Technology and also a Distinguished Engineer. During his twenty nine years of practical experience in IBM, he has worked for financial, retail and manufacturing clients on IT projects of all sizes. Overall, he specialises in ensuring the technical success of complex IT projects. He currently leading projects related to IBM's Smarter Cities programme and development of techniques to drive industry level innovation.

Rashik was appointed to the Leeds City Region Local Enterprise Partnership Board and chairs the business communications group. He is helping develop the innovation strategies to accelerate growth of this £55bn marketplace.

Rashik is also IBM’s Partnership Executive for Imperial College – London. He is also an Adjunct Professor for Department of Innovation and Entrepreneurship at the Imperial College Business School and Visiting Professor to the Intelligent Systems and Networks Group at the Department of Electrical & Electronic Engineering.
 


Geert Van Grootel

Senior Researcher and FRIS Information Architect, Economy, Science & Innovation Department, Knowledge Management Unit, Flemish Government

Geert Van Grootel holds a PhD in geology from the university of Ghent and was an active researcher at Ghent university and INRS, Quebec, Canada before moving to the Flemish government after a two-year stay at Carthography Deschutter where he was a production manager. Geert is now working in the domain of research information systems and the associated standardization bodies.

In Geert’s current role as Senior Researcher and FRIS Information Architect in the Flemish Government - Economy, Science & Innovation Department, Knowledge Management Unit, he is involved in policy preparations and in the FRIS (Flanders Research Information Space) programme for the strategic aspects and information architecture.

 


Steve Van Beirs
Chief Operating Officer, European Datacomm

Steve Van Beirs has been involved in the last 10 years with several core technology developments in the field of battery technology, energy harvesting, telecommunication chipsets and machine to machine modules.

The main objectives of these developments focus on Internet of Things applications using highly miniaturized autonomous devices. Currently holds a position of Chief Operating Officer and Director of Innovation at European Datacomm N.V., a market leader in Belgium for automotive security M2M solutions.

With a background in economics and engineering, Steve is a passionate ambassador of innovation and works closely with leading industry players.


Jean Vanderdonckt
President, Louvain School of Management Research Institute
Jean Vanderdonckt is Full Professor in Information Systems at Louvain School of Management (LSM, Université catholique de Louvain (UCL). He is President of Louvain School of Management Research Institute (ILSM) and Head of Louvain Interaction Laboratory (a lab that conducts research, development, and consulting services in the domain of user interface engineering, an area located midway between software engineering, human-computer interaction, and usability engineering). He is also Invited Professor at Polytecnic University of Valencia, Spain. He is the scientific coordinator of the ITEA2 UsiXML European project that gathers 22 members from 6 European countries and coordinator of the UsiXML Consortium. He is a Senior Member of ACM, IEEE. He is co-editor in chief of Springer Human-Computer Interaction Series.
